Drummondville, February 11, 2004 — Buoyed by a brisk home-buying market, Drummond Designs Inc. experienced impressive growth in its 2003 business activities, both in Quebec and internationally.
According to Statistic Canada figures, the province of Quebec had a 10.7% increase in requests for permits to build single-family dwellings in 2003, going from 21,957 units in 2002 to 24,580 in 2003. In the same span, Drummond designs saw its sales (units) rise by 18% in Quebec and 32% in the United States, the sixth straight hike, for an overall increase of more than 125% since 1998.
The opening of three branches in Victoriaville, Repentigny and Granby, the creation of a Quebec sales director position and the imminent opening of outlets in Saint-Félicien, Valleyfield, Ottawa and Princeton in the United States are elements that contributed to the increased sales and the 15% staff growth initiated to quickly and efficiently respond to the demand.
